Shira Kaplan is the founder and CEO of CYVERSE AG, based in Zürich, Switzerland. Cyverse is a next-gen cyber-security company that brings best-in-breed and the most cutting edge cyber tech companies coming out of Israel to large enterprises in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

Shira has a background that would make Lara Croft and Tony Stark jealous! Shira is an alumna of the Israeli 8200 Elite Technology Unit of the Intelligence, a Harvard BA (with Chinese) and an MBA from St. Gallen University in Switzerland.

Shira brings a decade of business activity in leading global corporations including Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Israel (NASDAQ: TEVA) and Bank Julius Baer & Co. in Zurich (SIX: BAER). In this podcast, we hear about how growing up in Israel under some tense security environments shaped her path. She is a major advocate for women joining the military as a way to boost confidence, skill development, networking and as a major career differentiator.

Shira tells us how losing her Swiss banking job was gone after a re-organization at the end of her maternity leave was both hugely disappointing but also the catalyst for starting Cyverse.

Shira's background in cyber intelligence and her access to best-in-breed Israeli tech companies gives her an edge that others could only dream about. Not only does she have over 100 European multinationals as clients in cybersecurity defense, she also launched Cyverse Capital to be an equity investor in these companies as well. A simply brilliant business combination.

Shira is a HUGE advocate for women in the military, but argues she is still absolutely dedicated to peace.

She tells us of her passion for a charity called "Seeds of Peace" that tries to bring children and teenagers together from often opposing backgrounds to become leaders that drive change and understanding for each other.

Lastly, Shira believes strongly in the value of mentoring young people, especially girls who want to pursue a career in cyber security.
