03 ~ Tending to your creative foundations
Manage episode 423561975 series 3571634
Hello, and welcome back to the Brand Seasons podcast, a space to explore the rhythms of our creative lives and work. I'm your host, designer, mentor, and writer, Sarah Robertson.
Today, I touch on the season of Season of Sowing and the concepts of waiting, tending and pacing. I also talk about supporting our creativity, permission to be imperfect and bringing playfulness into our days. I then consider how we can build a sustainable business and use our intuition to guide us.
I quoted the author Megan Smalley, who, in sharing her experience of infertility, said: “There is purpose in your season of waiting.” While this is something I can personally appreciate after my own experience of secondary infertility and recurrent miscarriage, I believe we can find freedom in our season of waiting within our businesses and creative practices, too.
I mentioned my interview on the Space to Think podcast, and the episode about creativity and improvisation airs on Thursday, 20th June. I also published a post about the natural rhythm of growth and change, where I share more on the season I find myself in, at the point of recording.
