Ep. 172: Paul Bielatowicz
Manage episode 407529460 series 3562942
Welcome, Paul Bielatowicz, born in Burnley, Lancashire, England. As a child, he was obsessed with gymnastics, but around the age of 7, he began expressing an interest in playing the guitar. Paul Bielatowicz's dad had always played guitar and the two would often sing songs together. His parents bought him a child-sized nylon-strung acoustic guitar for Christmas and he started taking classical guitar lessons.
He has now spent the past two decades recording, playing, and touring with some of the biggest names in progressive rock. When the COVID-19 pandemic stopped all touring, Paul Bielatowicz turned his attention to composing an immersive prog-rock soundtrack for Nosferatu, the 1922 classic silent horror film. This unique show features a live band performance of the full score played in sync with the movie, plus two additional LED screens for multimedia onstage guest performances from some of the biggest names in classic and progressive rock.
The Artists Index Indie Podcast Host, Scott Bishop, talks to Paul Bielatowicz about his background, passions, and career.
