Part 1:
We speak with Steve Paikin, host of The Agenda, host of Canada's premier talk show.
We discuss how Canadians are reacting to the Harris campaign.
We also discuss the day care advances in Canada. The goal is $10/day care for all children. The goal has not yet been reached, but progress is being made.
Part 2:
We talk with Sadia Rafiquddin, an investigative journalist who has written about health issues.
We discuss the research on miscarriages, and the dificulties in collecting data about this problem. This is a huge problem, because miscarriages cause stress, large economic effects, marriage dissolution effects, and ongoing problems for women, even years after the event. In the US, collecting data is hard because it is pregnancy related, and data about is often 'hidden' for many reasons. Currently, the reasons may be related to the fear of surveillance by the government (state or federal) around pregnancy. In countries with universal health care systems, this data is much more available and can be acted upon to help patients and their families.
