Teachings In The Air is a new podcast focusing on Indigenous men's health and wellness that aims to inspire, motivate, and empower men to be sound in mind, body and spirit - because that's what health means. **TIA is hiring! More info below!

Host Gerry Oleman explores issues relating to Indigenous men's health and wellness, such as healthy masculinities, relationships, parenting, addictions, intergenerational trauma and healing, resilience, innovation and much more. Be sure to follow the podcast on Facebook , Instagram and Twitter, and sign up for our newsletter by visiting tiny.cc/teachingscastnews!

Gerry Oleman is a member of the St’at’imc Nation from Tsal’alh (Shalalth B.C.) and has been involved as a change agent for First Nations communities and agencies since 1976. His experiences include providing counseling for individuals, families, and groups, and providing leadership politically and administratively to his community and Nation. Gerry came to the realization that all First Nations in Canada have the same suffering and challenges; all challenges are man-made therefore they can be healed and fixed using our traditions and laws that worked for us for thousands of years. Over the past 34 years, Gerry has facilitated over 645 workshops across Canada and in the United States.

"My interest is for the health of the people and the planet earth and I believe that is what life was about for Indigenous people before contact. I found in my life when I was led to believe that the individual was more important than the group and I when started to live this way, I was in trouble."

Teachings In The Air is powered you - the people. Please take a minute to consider who you know who might be interested in the content of the show, and share our project with them! We're hoping to get the podcast into the hands and ears of as many Indigenous men and men's groups, frontline workers, service providers, and educators as possible, so thank you for your help!

Teachings In The Air is produced and supported in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Aboriginal Health and the BC Provincial Health Services Authority.
