Born in the city of Bogota (Colombia) and raised in the party capital Cali. March 13, 1989 was the day Andres F. Vasquez saw the light, a light that continues to shine in his path. A path carefully crafted by the sound of his city. Salsa, bongo, timbales and that cowbell tin that goes worldwide. Royal was introduced to a grand variety of music, always supported by his parents who since his early age tried to get him into the entertainment scene. Dancing, music classes and singing at his local church choir fulfilled his young heart along with rebelliousness among his surroundings. At the age of twelve Royal’s career started to develop after his move to the United States. Soon after he began to open the eyes from different scenes in the music industry, by producing and composing songs with a local Hip-hop group in Connecticut taking his Latin hip-hop and revolutionizing sounds to what now Royalty Records. This has made noise all over the tri-state area and still continues to do so. In 2007 on tour back in his home land "Royal” was well known as Kilo, between his performances at Summer Festivities (Las Ferias) in Cali and TV & Radio Interviews with the popular stations the momentum was in full throttle. Continuing his career into the United States he attended the renowned school in New York for Producers and Audio Engineers (The Institute of Audio And Research) It was at the age of eighteen he further his talent by mastering the turntables and started pumping beats into the local clubs in the area. Slowly but patiently he crafted a sound in his home studio and with the help of a current friend award winning, Billy Barber. Producing became natural, his sound rapidly spread helping him land gigs all over New York area. Royal Vasquez is currently working on his first album and with his first EP to be released under Lucid Records NY. There is definitely no stopping him, characterized for his drive and humbleness making fans feel welcome wherever he plays.
