"Let cops be cops again" that's the key message from the NSW Police Association today with almost 2000 officers in parts of the state refusing to perform non-core policing duties in the past 12 days.

They say non-essential jobs such as truancy and welfare checks - as well as protests, including the weekly pro-Palestinian demonstrations - have had an impact on resources.
