In this episode of the "Rise and Shine" podcast with Yobi Qiu, our guest, Tiffany Semmons, shares her inspiring journey in the field of early childhood education. Tiffany, an experienced educator and entrepreneur, discusses her path from a teacher to becoming a preschool director and an author.

Tiffany's background in education is deeply rooted as her mother was an educator specializing in special needs. She initially pursued a career in child life specialization in a hospital setting but eventually found her passion in early childhood education, particularly with three-year-olds who have vivid imaginations.

She began her career as a floater, moving between different classrooms, gaining valuable experience. Tiffany's journey led her to become an assistant director, where she continued to grow in her role and connect with other educators and directors in her community.

One of the most significant challenges she faced as a director was during the COVID-19 pandemic, navigating health and safety protocols and supporting parents dealing with separation anxiety during drop-offs.

Tiffany emphasizes the importance of collaboration and support among directors, creating a network of peers who can share leads and resources. She believes in working together to provide the best care for children, even if it means referring parents to other centers when her own is full.

The busiest time for Tiffany, as a director, is the back-to-school season, marked by new enrollments, transitions, and adjusting to new routines. She acknowledges that it requires multitasking skills and careful planning.
