Weiss was hired by the New York Times following Trump's historic victory in 2016 as part of a concerted effort to make the newspaper more inclusive. Weiss, a centrist, was routinely harassed and bullied by co-workers at the New York Times for her centrist points of view and ultimately the hostile work environment led to her resignation.
