People in the scientific community live into the theological themes of repentance and sanctification better than most religious people do. They live life and undergo authentic evolution all the time. They're able to let go of previously held beliefs about the world through the scientific method. In Paul's letter to the Galatians, he calls the Jewish church of Galatia out on their inconsistency in connection and acceptance of the Gentiles. Paul underwent and authentic evolution, from thinking works of the law justified us to the understanding that faith in Christ is the thing that gets the job done. How did that happen? Like a good scientist, Paul experimented. He found that no one can live up to the law - it's going to take something else - faith in Christ. This affects us in two ways. 1) It affects how we approach God. We don't have to be afraid - through faith we are loved, accepted, and transformed. 2) We are transformed from the inside out. Normally we think the opposite - if we just do the right things we'll become better people. But Paul points us in a different direction. It's by the faith of Christ living in us that we are transformed. Speaker: Aaron Vis Scripture: Galatians 2:11-21 http://bible.com/events/49068631
