When it is said following God is about a relationship and not religion. How does that actually look? And does reading the Bible apply to that? Do we read the Bible to gain knowledge or for a list of “dos” and “don’ts” or do we read it for seeing God’s character and getting to know who he is more? Do we read it with the mystery that God is out side of our limited human understanding and therefore there will be gray areas and mystery? Do we read it to be moved closer to how to forgive, love, and encourage others better or how to convict, argue, or tell others how they are wrong and we are right? Does the God we know personally when he is with us and deals with us in our mess the same God we are reading about in his word? Is that the same God we are wanting to be more like?
