Tonight's recodedpixels video focuses on the recent news about YouTube vlogger EDP445, real name Deyione Scott-Wilson Eason (born as: Bryant Turhan Emerson Moreland), a YouTuber known for posting videos about the Philadelphia Eagles team in the NFL, and other rants. Since launching his YouTube channel in 2010, he has gained a significant following among internet communities. However, in April 2021, allegations of pedophilia were put against EDP445 after the Predator Poachers group posed as a 13-year-old girl to expose the YouTuber. Predator Poachers published screenshots of texts and a confrontation video in which EDP445 admitted to knowingly sending explicit messages to whom he thought was a 13-year-old. His channel was subsequently terminated.
In early December 2022, EDP445 confirmed rumors that he has kidney failure. In a live stream that was later reuploaded to YouTube on December 6th, 2022, he says he has stage five kidney failure. During the stream, he also defends himself against the 2021 cupcake video, saying he's innocent and was set up. The news went viral on Twitter later that month and inspired reactions and memes, including many celebrating the diagnosis due to his pedophilia allegations. On December 20, 2022, Twitter user and YouTuber Justin Whang tweeted, "Just saw why EDP445 is trending," along with a meme about the diagnosis, which garnered over 50,000 likes in two days.
