Manage episode 437179044 series 2342565
(00:00-25:45) – Query & Company opens on a Friday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing how the buzz is starting to pick up around the city with football coming back. Jake admits a couple of obsessions that he has. One of them being with people only calling Deion Sanders “Coach Prime” and not “Coach Deion Sanders” and the other being how Chris Ballard did not answer a question about Anthony Richardson on Wednesday.
(25:45-44:09) – Kevin Bowen from the Wake-Up Call with KB & Andy joins Jake Query to evaluate his thought on what Chris Ballard didn’t say on Wednesday in his press conference regarding Anthony Richardson’s development, assesses where this Colts team is most improved compared to last year, and reveals that his son will be making picks again this season for every Colts game.
(44:09-47:16) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jake and Eddie discussing the weather because Jake is heading off to Milwaukee for the IndyCar races.
(47:16-1:07:27) – NHRA driver Brittany Force joins Jake Query in studio to kick off the second hour of the program to share what it’s like driving for a legendary figure in the sport, John Force, considering he is also her father. She also shares how she got into NHRA drag racing because she didn’t picture herself making a career out of it, provides an update on how her dad is doing following a horrible accident three weeks ago, and explains how some of the ancillary factors impact the outcome of races.
(1:07:27-1:31:41) – The segment starts with Jake and Eddie discussing Jake’s plans when he gets to Milwaukee and then the news of T.J. McConnell signing a four-year extension with the Indiana Pacers! The IndyStar’s Kyle Neddenriep joins Jake Query for the second consecutive week to preview this weekend’s games for week two of the High School Football season. Neddenriep also highlights some teams that stood out to him in week one both positively and negatively and hopes that Franklin Central can do something to honor the passing of Chuck Lynn on Wednesday.
(1:31:41-1:36:47) – Hour number two concludes with Jake taking some calls from listeners trying to guess which two high school athletes he was referencing at the end of the previous segment as the two most dominant players he has seen.
(1:36:47-2:05:20) – The South Bend Tribune’s Tom Noie joins Query & Company to explain how important this game is for the College Football Playoff outlook for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, shares his excitement for Riley Leonard compared to Sam Hartman from a year ago, believes that Marcus Freeman has finally settled into being the head coach of Notre Dame football, lists some storylines that he finds interesting between Notre Dame and Texas A&M, and agrees with Jake that In-N-Out is overrated compared to how it used to be viewed.
2:05:20-2:19:43) – As we do every Friday on Query & Company, Jake shares a story about a high schooler in Illinois that overcame the odds so he can be on the football field with his dad on Friday nights. This Good for the Heart Friday segment was, as always, brought to you by Franciscan Health.
