WE ARE BACK with a brand new season of PUT ME IN, COACH! Matt and Carl present to you our first long-form story tackling the legendary losers, baseball's own Cleveland Spiders, who won just 20 games in the 1899 season. Plus, we provide a brief check-in with how the MLB offseason has gone.

Here in the first chapter, we'll look at the history of baseball in Cleveland, how the Spiders came to be, and the greedy businessman who precipitated their demise. In next week's episode, we'll focus on the highs and lows of the 1899 season and how the Spiders' downfall changed baseball forever.

Put Me In, Coach! is a baseball podcast hosted by Matt Coggins and Carl Mizell.

Theme music is by Quack Quack Seat Back. Edited and produced by Matt Coggins / Arctic Sounds.
