Episode 12 – Smart Cities: Lighting the Feuer of Sustainability
Manage episode 403719537 series 3462666
It’s the 1-year anniversary of Plugged In, the Guidehouse Insights Podcast where we go deep into emerging sustainability topics, from the grid to your car, from the phone to your home!
For Episode 12, Erin (returning to cohost for the month) and Jake speak to Jared Feuer, a Research and Analysis Consultant on the Guidehouse Insights Built Environment team, about his work tracking smart cities around the globe. Jared’s work focuses on smart cities, energy storage, microgrids, EVs, and more in the sustainability field. He has a bachelor’s in business administration with a double major in environmental sciences from Emory University.
We spend the episode talking about how Jared ended up at the intersection of business and environmentalism, what sort of work he puts into Guidehouse Insights’ many trackers, and examples of smart city technology that people might take for granted. We also finally talk about smart meters, which is probably warranted after all of our discussions of behind-the-meter technology.
Thank you to Guidehouse for providing us this platform for discussion. To keep up to date on other Guidehouse Insights work, follow our Industry Insights blog on the website: guidehouseinsights.com.
