S&P Futures are moving higher this morning as Commerce Sec indicated that the Trump Administration may announce a tariff reduction on Canada and Mexico today. European markets are displaying a strong upside move on new spending plans out of Germany. China talked stimulus action in the Two Sessions meeting. Trumps address to a joint session of Congress did not provide any new details of his economic plan and did not indicate a possible tariff reduction announcement on Canada and Mexico. CRWD earnings announcement disappointed the markets and shares are lower. After the bell today, MRVL, VEEV, ZS & MDB are scheduled to release. Jazz Pharmaceuticals to acquire Chimerix for $8.55 per share. evening. ECB rate announcement is scheduled for tomorrow. Congress remains challenged to advert a government shutdown next week as funding runs out on March 14th.…
S&P Futures are cautiously lower this morning as President Trump's trade tariffs go into effect. China and Canada have already responded by slapping tariffs on U.S. goods, and Mexico is expected to do the same. Shares of WBA are higher this morning on reports of a pending buyout deal. HON is said to be close to a $2.2B deal for Syndyne. Target released better than expected earnings this morning. After the bell today CRWD, FLUT, ROST & BOX are set to report. S&P Futures are cautiously higher this morning as global markets weaken due to policy uncertainty as President Trump continues his tariff rhetoric. Before the bell today, the PCE data is due out, which is a key inflation indicator. At 1:00 pm ET, President Trump will hold a press conference with Ukraine President Zelensky. On the earnings front, ASDK & ESTC reports were positive, DELL & HP were okay, however NTAP's was negative. Next week there are a host of retailers set to report earnings. S&P Futures are once again displaying strong gains in the pre-market. Nvidia delivered a strong earnings report and is moving higher, report did indicate some weakness in margins. President Trump issued a warning on EU tariffs, specifically on autos. There are media reports suggesting that the EU and India are working towards concession to avoid the tariff action. On the earnings front AXON, INTU & WDAY all delivered positive results last night. BUD & LOW are higher this morning after earnings. S&P Futures are moving higher in a rebound from Friday's sell-off. The weakness on Friday was due to growth concerns as policy changes in Washington created weakness in sentiment data. President Trump is meeting with the French President today at 12:20 pm and a press conference is scheduled for 2:00 pm. House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordon is demanding clarification on the enforcement of the E.U.'s Digital Services Act which appear to focus on U.S. companies. President Trump signed an Executive Order for a massive regulatory review and indicted that a trade deal with China is possible.
