In this episode of Leadership Story Talks, Jerome and Julienne welcome Katherine Carol, a recognized expert by the US Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy. Katherine shares her extensive career in helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities secure employment, find necessary resources, and creatively navigate complex systems.

She also discusses her personal experiences raising her daughter Mikelle, who has special needs and is nonverbal. Together, Katherine and Mikelle host the Shining Beautiful Series podcast, which focuses on the power of storytelling and advocacy for people with disabilities.

Katherine emphasizes the importance of choosing your story and legacy as a leader, the role of storytelling in driving action, and the need for curiosity and empathy when interacting with people with disabilities. She also highlights the impact of technology, including AI, on the disability community and the importance of including diverse stories in the digital landscape.
