Manage episode 455887477 series 3374080
Darryl Hurs boasts over 30 years in the music business, having launched and managed one of Canada’s largest music showcase festivals and conferences, INDIE WEEK. In response to COVID-19, he adeptly transitioned INDIE WEEK to a virtual format and founded three innovative online conferences: Music Pro Summit, indie101, and SCREENxSCREEN. This virtual shift also led to the creation of DIT (Do It Together - http://ditcommunity.com), a dynamic online community designed to host webinars, conferences, B2B and networking sessions, cultivating a rapidly growing global membership.
From 2019 to 2024, Darryl served as the Business Development Manager for Canada at CD Baby / DOWNTOWN MUSIC, enhancing collaboration with sister brands FUGA and Songtrust. His extensive expertise in graphics and web design is demonstrated through his freelance work with Live Nation, which included a corporate rebrand, logo design, and the launch of VIPNATION.com, along with projects for high-profile artists/brands such as U2, Nickelback, Madonna, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, American Express, House of Blues, and Dave Matthews.
Darryl's diverse industry experience also includes roles as an artist manager, tour manager, and venue booker, emphasizing his broad influence and adaptability in the music industry.
