Today, I am joined by Dr. Sreedhar Vijayakrishnan, an Elephant, Biologist. He is a post-doctoral researcher with the Centre for Conservation and Research. A wildlife biologist by training, Sreedhar has had research interests, over the last decade, in behavioural ecology, wildlife endocrinology, movement ecology, and human dimensions of wildlife conservation, with particular focus on the Asian elephants.
He has been living among the elephants from the age of 3 and somehow always knew that he will pursue a career to do with elephants.
We will learn:
Several super interesting anecdotal stories from his childhood. How and why he fell in love with the elephants :)
Why behavioural ecology interests him and so many fun facts about the elephants that will truly amaze you
His thoughts on human elephant conflict and practically interesting solutions that he proposes
Issues with the elephant census and what can be done to resolve those issues in the long run and much much more..
