There’s a significant transition in the book of Romans between chapters 11 and 12. It’s a transition from belief to behavior, from doctrine to duty. Once we understand the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ (chapters 1-11), every believer wants to identify the will of God. What am I supposed to do? Who am I supposed to do it with? What is God’s will for my life? There’s a reason most of us struggle finding the will of God. We want D but we often forget that we need A, B and C before we get to D. In these verses, Paul clarifies that we need to A-release, B-resist and C-renew before we can test and approve the will of God.
