Over in Southern Queens at Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach, it's the same story - HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK until 6 PM. Expect surf heights around 3 feet, cloudy weather, and temperatures in the upper 60s.
Moving on to Southern Nassau with Atlantic Beach, Long Beach, Lido Beach, and Jones Beach, the rip current risk remains HIGH until 6 PM. Surf height around 3 feet, cloudy skies, and highs in the upper 60s. Winds from the east at 15 to 20 mph.
In Southwestern Suffolk at Gilgo State Park and Robert Moses State Park, it's a mirror image with a HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK until 6 PM. Surf height around 3 feet, cloudy weather, and a touch cooler with highs in the mid 60s. East winds at 20 mph - hang on tight!
Wrapping up in Southeastern Suffolk where Smith Point, Cupsogue Beach, Hither Hills State Park, and Ditch Plains await you, expect a HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK until 6 PM. Surf height around 4 feet, mostly cloudy, and a chance of rain with highs in the upper 60s. Winds coming from the east around 15 mph.
Remember, when it comes to rip currents, always swim near a lifeguard, have a flotation device, and don't fight the current! Stay safe out there, surfers.
