Cristopher Sanchez tossed 6 innings of 1-run baseball and was backed by an offense that tallied 14 hits as the Phillies notched their 2nd win in 3 games. Not normally a brag for a team that’s had the best record in baseball for the vast majority of the season, but given the Phillies recent struggles, it’s kind of a big deal!

Sanchez improved to 8-7 as he bounced back from allowing 6 runs in his last start against the Yankees.

Kyle Schwarber started the Phillies’ scoring with an RBI single in the 5th inning, then he also capped off their scoring with a solo homer in the top of the 9th for his 24th homer of the season. Schwarbs’ longball was the second of back-to-back home runs hit in the inning, the previous was by Edmundo Sosa.

The Phillies lineup produced 6 hitters that recorded multi-hit games including Alec Bohm who came up with a 3-for-4 night.
