Egyptian queer activist Sarah Hegazi died twice: once by being persecuted and hounded by a cruel dictatorship society and another by suicide. This podcast, Justice for Sarah Hegazi, seeks to flip the victim narrative that Sarah became acquainted with so well in her lifetime and to portray her sympathetically, granting her the justice she needed. It hosts queer academics Tareq Baconi and Zeina Zaatari who explore the many themes that Sarah was a part of in our Arab society, such as social and sexual rights movements as well as the challenges of the LGBTQ+ community. It is brought to you by LAU Masters student Maysaa Ajjan as part of her final project.
