She warns Israelis against arrogance, which can greatly harm their image and relationship. "Unfortunately Americans tend to think that Israelis are aggressive and unpleasant to work with," she says. Shechterman also advises, "Pay attention to your behavior in the workplace and adjust to your environment. Speak more quietly and smoothly, don't criticize people in public, show curiosity, listen to others, and don't try to prove that you are smarter and more knowledgeable than them. Being pushy doesn't exactly help you, as you don't know enough about the social fabric in the US, so don't compare the situation of African Americans to the Israeli experience with Mizrahim in the country, you're going to get tangled up. And also be careful not to say that American Jews are rich - that's anti-Semitic. Furthermore, she reminds us that many startups fail because of conflicts among founders, so it's not advisable to ignore problems and disputes but to learn how to manage them.
