God wants you to forget & produce

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement…
Today, I want to reflect on both the past and the future. Our past with our daughter was filled with pain, especially on dates like September 5 her birth, October 6, and December 27. On October 6, she endured a terrible second infection, and on December 27, she underwent another surgery to place a shunt to drain spinal fluid from her brain cavities, which had started to affect her vision.
These were incredibly difficult times. I often felt like Joseph in the Bible, moving forward only to be set back again. Although I can’t fully compare my experience to his, I understand the feeling of hardship. Yet, I refused to dwell on frustration or allow others to pity us. Instead, I wanted those who knew our situation to bring faith, support, and joy.
That mindset began with me. In those moments, I had to set the tone for how we would navigate this journey and continue praying for a brighter future. The past is behind us and I can’t remain there.
Key passages
Genesis 41:51-52
Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” The second son he named Ephraim and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”
Philippians 3:13-14
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
