Inverted Orthodoxy #359- AER, Is being gay a sin, Joshua and Israel
Manage episode 447902581 series 1453647
In this weeks episode of Inverted Orthodoxy, Pastors Kyle, Blake, and Doug discuss the following questions:
2:09 into episode Thank you for your answer on
love, how it differentiates from believers to unbelievers. What I had not
ever thought of was as a believer I am to love the unlovable, which can be
much tougher. In the Bible it does state that we are to not to love only
people that love us.
2:44 into the episode AER regarding love in heaven: In Mark: Jesus said, “You’re way off base, and here’s why: One, you don’t know what God said; two, you don’t know how God works. After the dead are raised up, we’re past the marriage business. As it is with angels now, all our ecstasies and intimacies then will be with God. I know you mentioned we would fully love one another, but this seems to indicate a step beyond that.
38:24 into episode July 5 - Do you think that homosexuality is a sin? (note for Blake: we've referenced this in episodes: 160, 170, 209, 214, 231, 256, 276, 296, 297,310,)
I’m reading the beginning of Joshua and God seems to regularly give very specific instructions to Joshua/the people of Isreal. Why does god not give us the same regular, specific direction? Or is it that we don’t hear him? What would our lives be like if we did hear and respond to god like the Israelites?
