HushLoudly tackles the subject of introversion when intersected with marginalized identities (race, gender, LGBTQ+ status) and the impact it could have based on an expectation rooted in stereotypes and unconscious bias. Dean Marchildon, an introverted gay male shares the misperceptions that sometimes occur when others are expecting more animated behaviors from him. Marchildon talks about how leadership is not monolithic, and that women, introverts and marginalized groups should be able to lead differently and authentically. Host Jeri Bingham and Marchildon also talk about how they met through an introverted leadership professional development class at a prestigious institution, how to recharge and how to lean into an introverted personality type.
