In the coming campaign, Donald Trump’s job is straightforward. He must explain to American voters that until she herself tells us differently, we must assume Kamala Harris’ policy positions are the ones she articulated in 2019: open borders, no fracking, defunding the police, abolishing ICE, and eliminating private health insurance. In short, the positions that earned her the title of the most left-wing senator in the United States, including socialist Bernie Sanders.

Few voters agree with these policies. Harris couldn’t have won the nomination without being hand-picked by the Democratic establishment.

So she’s left with a choice. Either Harris must stand by her unpopular past views, or she must flip flop. And if there’s anything American voters dislike and distrust, it’s an inauthentic politician who will say anything to be elected.

It’s a straightforward playbook. It just needs a disciplined candidate to run the plays.
