BLACK LIVES MATTER. Period. This episode was recorded a month ago, days after the murder of George Floyd here in Minneapolis.
It has been difficult to formulate the words that express how I feel. It has been difficult to find the words that I feel will be valuable to the conversation. I have been doing a lot of listening. I will continue to listen. I believe Black Lives Matter and that we all have a lot of work ahead of us.
It is important to learn, to grow, to call people out when they are in the wrong, to speak up when you see racism or hear someone tell a racist joke.
I added a link below to a document that I first saw on Dianne "Lady Di" Walker's Facebook page.
Please check out this Anti-racism Resources Document: bit.ly/ANTIRACISMRESOURCES
It contains a wealth of links to articles and websites to learn more about how you can help.
BLACK PEOPLE CREATED TAP DANCING. Period. Please stop spreading lies and learn about tap's rich and vivid history.
As tap dancers we have been given a beautiful gift. People fought and died to bring this dance to us.
Learn about them and their stories. You will become a much better tap dancer every time you do.
With this podcast it is my aim to continue to learn, amplify a diversity of voices, and bring people's stories to my world-wide audience.
