Main Idea: In the moments that we realize the dreams inside of our hearts, we often follow it with our idea of what the story of fulfilling those dreams will look like. While our idea of the story seems the best way for our dreams to come true, it rarely ever happens like that. Instead, we typically go through extreme testings and trials while on the path of chasing those dreams, and many give up before they get close. But for those who endure and end up stepping into their calling often look back and reflect on how the journey was a lot different than they had originally thought.

Today we’re going to use David’s story to pull lessons of perseverance, humility and expectation. We’re going to see how he had ambition at a young age but didn’t really know what he was meant to do with it. We’re going to talk about what it was like for him to step closer and closer to his calling only to have it ripped away. And We’re going to look at how he was able to finally step into his dreams even though it wasn’t how he expected for it to happen.

The reason this topic is so important to talk about is because many of us establish expectations to our dreams that are often different from the reality of how they become fulfilled. Many people give up on their callings prematurely and unnecessarily because they think that their efforts aren’t making any progress since it seems like nothing was going according to plan. You don’t have to give up on your dream just because it seems to be going differently than you thought.
