Dr. Uché Blackstock received both undergraduate and medical degrees from Harvard University, making her and her twin sister, Oni, the first Black mother-daughter legacies from Harvard Medical School. Today, she is one of the country’s leading health equity advocates and a powerful voice on racial justice. A bestselling author and Harvard-trained emergency physician with over 17 years of experience, Dr. Blackstock is the founder and CEO of Advancing Health Equity. She is a regular medical contributor for MSNBC and legislators across the country have used her research and knowledge as a basis for policy changes. A powerful speaker, Dr. Blackstock talks to organizations across the country about the deep inequities that still exist in the U.S. healthcare system and the leap of faith she took to start a business. Her debut book ‘Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in America’ made the New York Times best seller in its first week and is available here and everywhere books are sold.
