In Episode 7 of the Struggles to Success Podcast, I talk to Dr Montio Morgan, Consultant ENT Surgeon and former chair of Cameroon Doctors Association, UK.
In this thought-provoking episode, Dr Morgan describes how she got into medical school in Cameroon after barely passing her "A" levels and how this struggle spurred her to become a high performer. She describes how she struggled initially when she was appointed as clinical director for her department and was trying to emulate a former director and mentor. She learnt to be true to her African identity and how it made a real difference. She also describes how to coach, mentor and lead teams through difficulties including the importance of story telling, learning and knowing what is important in life. This is an episode which focuses on leading and coaching others through struggles..
