Today we unpack the fast-evolving student protests in the USA. With me is Neal Hutchens, a professor at the University of Kentucky’s College of Education. Much of Neal’s work focuses on issues of free speech and academic freedom. Neal Hutchens serves on the author team for the forthcoming edition of The Law of Higher Education: Essentials for Legal and Administrative Practice published by Wiley. I spoke with Neal on April 30, hours before the police entered Columbia University’s campus and counter-protesters attacked the pro-Palestinian tent encampment at University of California, Los Angeles.
