Jesus said, "Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath."

Jesus’ edict about the Sabbath overcomes religious activity and asserts that Sabbath rest is a gift. Jesus also said that he is Lord of the Sabbath and this means that He is the one we come to when honoring the Sabbath.
