Welcome to the very first Shadowboard podcast, brought to you by Fast Forward in conjunction with Versus Arthritis.
Our Shadowboard was formed from a core aim within Fast Forward to ensure our work is designed and developed with, by and for young people. Made up of young people aged 14-25 years old from a range of different backgrounds, our Shadowboard are an integral part of the charity. A series of podcasts, partnering with other inspiring organisations, perfectly complements our mission of making young voices heard.
In this episode, our Shadowboard delve into the challenging subject of being a young person in Scotland managing a long term health condition – and the impacts it has. We do this in the company of four young people living with Arthritis and various other complex conditions. Discussing the challenges of fitting in, peer pressure and balancing medication with risk taking behaviours.
Versus Arthritis young people and families worker Charlotte shares the benefit of her experiences and looks at how young people’s behaviours and attitudes towards risk taking behaviours have changed over time.
Listener discretion is advised as we will be talking about some potentially triggering topics. This podcast discusses various issues around risk taking behaviours. If you are worried about, or affected by someone close to you, please know that you are not alone and confidential support is available.
