Tisha Schuller welcomes Kayla Dolan, director of policy and strategy at Adamantine Energy, to the Real Decarbonization podcast. Tisha and Kayla discuss their experiences observing a focus group about a hypothetical direct air capture project in a politically conservative town in Wyoming. Check out the Both of These Things Are True edition “Don’t Take Wyoming for Granted (or MT, TX or ND)” (https://energythinks.com/dont-take-wyoming-for-granted-or-mt-tx-or-nd/) for more on their takeaways on effectively engaging with rural communities. Prior to joining Adamantine, Kayla worked as an advisor for members of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, focusing primarily on energy and environment issues. She most recently served as policy advisor to Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy, managing and leading the senator’s energy and environment portfolio, advising the senator during Congress’ unprecedented response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and helping to shape the Energy Act of 2020. Her work included establishing the first natural gas carbon capture research, development, and demonstration program at the Department of Energy and modernizing the department’s technology commercialization activities. Kayla holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from High Point University.
