I've organized my podcast around 5 Social Studies themes (1-5): Culture, Time, continuity & change, People, places & environments, Individual development & identity, and Individuals, groups & institutions. I've also focused on the WA State Social Studies standards with specific focus for 1st grade, namely context of learning social studies is families. Specifically, I've connected themes in my podcast to the 1st Grade Geography Standards, Component 3.2 and 3.2.3: understanding human interaction with environment and why families make decisions to move. Additionally, links between my podcast and 1st Grade History Standard, Component 4.1, understanding historical chronology through family timelines, can be made.
