Does it seem like every dancer and their mother is starting up a podcast?
Well, it might be true. And hi 🙋‍♀️ But for real - It’s been a really fun way to let out some creativity, share insight from over 15 years in the biz, and, most importantly, connect with industry peers who I truly admire.
Any interest in what it takes to start a podcast of your own? In today’s episode, I’m chatting with Krystle Frey, who is a former pro dancer and Podcast Editor with Pivot Ball Change. She breaks down:

  • The first actionable steps to starting a podcast
  • What it takes to continue running it (software programs, etc)
  • How to build your audience and monetize your podcast

**At the recording time, Krystle was hosting her own podcast, Pivot Ball Change. Since then she has stepped away from her own podcast and is now focusing her entrepreneurial pursuits on podcast management services for other shows.**
Krystle is a Wisconsin who grew up dancing with multiple studios and organizations throughout Wisconsin including Madison Ballet.
At the young age of 17 Krystle was asked to join a professional dance company; Jazzworks. She went on to be the dance captain for several shows at The Broadway Dinner Theater in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Krystle also danced for Celebrity Cruise Lines where she traveled to magnificent places all over the world.
Krystle lived and trained in New York City and eventually made her way back to Wisconsin where she studied dance at UW-Madison. She has taught all forms of dance including jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, hip-hop and contemporary. Krystle has choreographed pieces for several studios throughout Wisconsin and still performs as a professional artist herself.
Krystle is a multi-talented creative mama whose goal as the Pivot Ball Change podcast host is to help other mom’s find their creative selves again. She brings a diverse perspective to all things motherhood and her down-to-earth, realistic approach will help you feel more connected and less alone. Her and her husband Travis, along with their son and rescue dog, reside in South Central Wisconsin.
