Look at Galatians 3:13 in a few translations:

NTV- "Christ has rescued us from the curse dictated in the law."

NLT- "Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced in the law."

TLA- "But Christ preferred to receive for us the curse that falls upon him who disobeys the law."

Redeemed means to be rescued, bought back, to pay a ransom, and rescue from loss. It is important to define this term because “redemption” has often become a theological term that means little. We don’t want the meaning to be watered down or changed.

Literally, redemption is to rescue from loss, but it is used in the sense of paying a ransom. It is as though kidnappers (the devil and his cohorts) took humanity captive and demanded payment of a ransom to get humans back. Jesus was THE Christ that paid the price with His own life when He went to the cross, died, was buried, went to hell as our substitute, was raised from the place of death called Hades, rose from the dead, and presented the tokens of our redemption before the Father in heaven! The job was finished, justice satisfied, and Jesus sat down in all authority and power at the right hand of the Father in Heaven! [1]

There is another word we must define. It is the word 'curse.' Most people know intuitively that a curse is something bad! There is nothing good in a curse, just as there is nothing bad in a blessing. In Hebrew there are two words, arar and kalal, for the English word curse and they are both used in the most extensive list of curses in the Bible found in Deuteronomy 28:15-66. Basically, anything and everything evil in that terrible list refers to the curses. It is all very, very, BAD stuff. None of it is the blessing, or a blessing in disguise!

Read a list of blessings in Deuteronomy 28:1-14, also the most extensive list of blessings in the Bible. Notice how the blessings are the exact opposite of the curses. Don’t let the separation between blessings and curses get by you unnoticed. The fact is that after reading that chapter, you could never mix them up again! Blessings do not crossover into the list of curses and curses do not dance over into the list of blessings! There is clear demarcation line between them, and there is no confusion as to which one goes where! Using sickness and disease as an example, there are NO sicknesses and diseases under the blessings, and there is NO healing or health under the curses. Notice that there is no prosperity under the curses, and that there is no lack or poverty under the blessings! Only in gutless, puny, traditional, dead churches that believe contrary to the Scripture do you find that there is confusion about this, but never in the Bible! The Bible always makes a clear distinction between blessing and curses and good and evil. There are no crossovers!

Jesus stated it like this:

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. (John 10:10 AMP)

The thief is the devil. Jesus is the giver of life, and the two don’t get mixed up, there is no crossover between them, and the devil doesn’t work part-time for God! Some ignorant souls think the devil is God’s unwilling servant! As we study this, you will see just how ridiculous, and frankly blasphemous, that type of thinking really is! Is there divine judgment? Yes, there is, but it is another subject we will discuss at some length later on in this series. Don’t miss this series!

NOTE:

[1] If you don’t know that Jesus went to hell or Hades for you, read and study my free books in English and Spanish, “The Story of our Great Redemption”, and “3 Días y Tres Noches en el Corazón de la Tierra.” Info is below on these life changing books.

THE STORY OF OUR GREAT REDEMPTION is the greatest story ever told! This book will open your eyes to what Jesus did for us to depths seldom tread by Christians, pastors, and ministers. Jesus was and is the greatest hero ever born! All other man-made heroes pale in comparison. It is sad that so many try to draw parallels between Jesus and , for example, the fictional character Superman. The truths about Jesus' sacrifice make the Superman fiction look like child's play. Brace yourself for Biblical truths that your pastor probably never taught you. I promise you, that if you will receive the Word on this mighty subject in this book, it will be transformational. Has anyone ever told you that God loves you and that He has a wonderful plan for your life? I have a real quick, but important question to ask you. If you were to die this very second, do you know for sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you would go to Heaven?

Let me quickly share with you what the Holy Bible reads. It reads “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” and “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. The Bible also reads, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. And you’re a “whosoever” right? Of course you are; all of us are.

I’m going to say a quick prayer for you. Lord, bless the person reading this and his/her family with long and healthy lives. Jesus, make Yourself real to him/her and do a quick work in his/her heart. If If you have not received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, I pray you will do so now.

If you would like to receive the gift that God has for you today, say this after me with your heart and lips out loud.

"Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Forgive me of my sin. Wash me and cleanse me. Set me free. Jesus, thank You that You died for me. I believe that You are risen from the dead and that You’re coming back again for me. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Give me a passion for the lost, a hunger for the things of God and a holy boldness to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m saved; I’m born again, I’m forgiven and I’m on my way to Heaven because I have Jesus in my heart."

As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I tell you today that all of your sins are forgiven. Always remember to run to God and not from God because He loves you and has a great plan for your life.

Contact me and let me know you received Jesus as Lord and Savior!
