Social media platforms are an everyday destination for many of us, and LinkedIn in particular has become the go-to site for finding business contacts like customers, suppliers, and potential partners. But it’s also popular with cybercriminals, who use the online information to map out an organization’s reporting structure and collect information – such as the name of your boss, a major project you’re working on, or the security clearances you have – to make phishing and social engineering attacks as convincing and effective as possible. And if that wasn’t enough reason to be careful, 440 Media recently reported that LinkedIn may have used its hundreds of millions of users’ details to train its own AI systems, without their knowledge or consent, before it finally updated its terms of service. That means if you’ve shared sensitive business details through your profile, posts, or replies, they may now be part of large language models that could be accessible by other users in the future. This kind of data scraping has become common – and it could become a security risk if you’re not careful. The 60-second "Security Nudge" is brought to you by CybSafe, developers of the Human Risk Management Platform. Learn more at https://cybsafe.com
