After two weeks off for the holidays, we have a ton to catch up on, including some on-ice tournaments, and a lot of off-the-ice news. Augustana is our Team of the Week, so we talk to its head coach, Garrett Raboin, about that, plus his time at the World Junior Championship, where he helped Team USA win gold again. We get into David Carle's storied career already as head coach of Team USA and Denver, Ryan Leonard's leadership, and more. Also, from the Desert Classic in Arizona, we have interviews with three of the coaches there, mainly about the major junior issue, and also where their teams are headed at the midway mark. Plus, news on a new postseason tournament for independents; UNLV's whirlwind couple weeks and its prospects for moving to NCAA Division I; and addressing rumors about which coaches may or may not retire after this season. We've packed in quite a lot. 0:00 Intro 1:36 Week in Review 3:48 World Junior talk 15:55 UNLV talk, and coach Anthony Vignieri-Greener 31:20 Independents Tournament 35:33 Coach Retirements? 42:25 Garrett Raboin, Augustana coach 54:48 Greg Carvel, Massachusetts coach 57:07 Derek Schooley, Robert Morris coach 1:00:55 Mike Schafer, Cornell coach 1:09:31 Listener questions Please send feedback or questions to our BlueSky feed @collegehockeynews.com, or X feed @chnews.
