Clare County Council is urging first time buyers to engage with its supports when attempting to secure their first home. New figures from the Department of Housing show the local authority has been instructed 74 home loans since 2022. The scheme offers up to €270,000 in funding to successful applicants for new and second-hand properties, to be paid back over 25 years at an interest rate of 4%. Clare County Council's Senior Executive Housing and Integration Officer Padraig MacCormaic says the initiative is open to a wider range of people.
