016 \\ Is Anxiety Leading You to a Season of Rest in Your Healthcare Practice?
Manage episode 445344590 series 3556918
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the demands of your healthcare practice, wondering if you’re doing enough or if you’re truly managing it all?
As healthcare providers, we often carry an immense weight on our shoulders—our patients depend on us, our practices need our attention, and our families count on us.
In the midst of this whirlwind, there’s a silent struggle that many of us face but seldom discuss: anxiety.
For a long time, I thought of myself as a high achiever, thriving on busyness and productivity.
If I was moving, I believed I was making progress.
But underneath that façade, I was avoiding the anxiety and fear that simmered just below the surface.
I realized that anxiety often manifests in ways we don’t expect.
It may not always look like panic; sometimes, it reveals itself through overcommitting, people-pleasing, or simply trying to maintain control in the chaos.
I’ve come to recognize that this persistent drive can push us toward a breaking point, making it essential to take a step back.
That’s where the idea of rest comes in.
Recently, I’ve felt a profound urge to pause and reflect—a nudge from God, reminding me that rest is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.
As I prepare for a sabbatical to recharge, I invite you to consider whether you, too, might be called to take a break.
Are you constantly pouring out without refilling your own cup?
Have you been pushing through the noise, neglecting your own needs?
Let’s explore together how recognizing the signs of anxiety can lead us to the restorative rest we all need to navigate the demands of our practices and lives.
