Welcome to the premiere episode of Barker Room Radio! Erin Courtney is an Obie award winning playwright currently teaching at Brooklyn College in the M.F.A. playwriting program. Erin's home, a building she describes as a "strange playwriting commune," has housed a number of New York playwrights such as Annie Baker, Heidi Schreck, and Kate E. Ryan. Her plays, her work at Brooklyn College, and her experiences as landlady to so many bold theatrical voices, position her as a pivotal figure in the contemporary theatrical landscape. Today, she sits down with Barker Room's Paul Ketchum to discuss her Obie winning play, A Map of Virtue, and it's rapidly approaching West Coast Premiere with Barker Room Rep.
