Oxygen, the home of true crime programming, introduces its new docuseries Philly Homicide, which follows the unexpected twists and turns of some of the most shocking murders committed in the city of brotherly love. In each episode, host and former Philadelphia police detective Chris McMullin gives unique insights into the crimes that took place along with archival footage, exclusive first-person interviews with Philly area detectives and cinematic recreations. Viewers take away an insider’s view into the heartrending cases that Philly’s finest diligently worked to solve in America’s birthplace.
Philadelphia born and raised, Chris McMullin wanted to become a police officer since he was a young boy. As a teen, Chris started out answering 911 calls in Wildwood, NJ, before getting hired as a patrol cop on the Jersey Shore and later joined the Philadelphia PD as a patrol officer. In 1992, Chris joined Bensalem PD, just outside Philly, where he worked his way from uniformed cop to detective, investigating everything from robberies, assaults, sex crimes and homicides. During his 30 years in Bensalem, Chris helped solve some of the region’s coldest murder cases. In 2022, he retired from Bensalem and now works as a Lieutenant for the Bucks County Sheriff's Office in Doylestown, PA.
After taking part in a training video about domestic violence response, the director encouraged Chris to pursue acting -- which he did, resulting in various roles including M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant and Law & Order: SVU.
