In this episode… we continue our talk about the sacrament of Holy Communion and the Episcopal doctrine of the Eucharist, “Episco-ettique” as Fr. David calls it, when we receive the consecrated elements and the pastoral ministry and responsibility of distributing the consecrated elements of the Eucharist. We also “unpack” some terms that are talked about frequently, but not entirely explained.

A note from Clare: Hey friends, I made a mistake in referring to crossing oneself at the word “Sanctify” and “at Unity, constancy, and peace.” While some priests do cross themselves at different times, in the Eucharistic Prayer me and Fr. David were talking about, Eucharistic Prayer A, there is only one optional place to cross yourself and that is at the word “sanctify us also”. I was thinking of Eucharistic Prayer B when I made that comment. In Eucharistic prayer B, you can cross yourself at the phrase, “Unite us” or “being sanctified”.
