#12 (part I) 'Dis jou dag': Reflections on White Afrikaner Wedding Rituals
Manage episode 301083568 series 2975924
Inspired by a private performance Nicolene will be doing with Mandri Sutherland in mid-June, Jana and Nicolene finally decided to tackle a topic that is very personal and controversial in their communities: getting married! They have both attended many (Afrikaner) White weddings and decided to reflect in this episode about the rituals, value, consumerism, and expectation connected to tying the knot in their culture. Expect many personal stories and a deeply vulnerable unpacking of what they feel the wedding ceremony represents.
