Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Julia and Christian Zielinski of ARTIS Guitar Duo were booked to play at the 20th Ullapool Guitar Festival in October 2019.
They played a fantastic concert on the Friday night. And what a venue! The festival is held in the Macphail Centre in Ullapool and the theatre is quite intimate. Not to mention the fact that the audience is made up of guitar nerds who know how to keep quiet and listen. The atmosphere was wonderful!
I recorded a conversation with Julia and Christian on the Saturday afternoon and it was really lovely to hear some of their story to complement the music I’d heard the night before. I hope you enjoy listening too!
