Bro. Billy Compton -- 11/25/18 -- Break the Routine Barrier -- 1 Cor 11:23-29
Manage episode 222341806 series 2362272
BREAKING THE ROUTINE BARRIER
I Corinthians 11:23-29
A TIME TO COMMERORATE
- “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on
to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed,
took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke
it and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this
in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after supper
he took the cup saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant
in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in
remembrance of me’” (I Cor. 11:23-25 NIV).
- “Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy,
blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above
the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not
need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own
sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed
for their sins once for all when he offered himself”
(Heb. 7:26-27 NIV).
A TIME TO PROCLAIM
- “For when you eat this bread and drink this cup, you
proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes”
(I Cor. 11:26 NIV).
A TIME TO EXAMINE
- “Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup
of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of
sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A man
ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread
and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks
without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks
judgment on himself” (I Cor. 11:27-29 NIV).
Sunday School begins at 10:00am EST with Morning Worship beginning at 11:00am EST. Evening Worship begins at 6:00pm EST
Wednesday Prayer Meeting begins at 7:00pm EST
