On this week’s episode, we looked closely at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 2-0 win over Watford, a game in which new signing Hwang Hee-chan netted his first goal for Wolves. The victory was a very important one for Bruno Lage’s side, who failed to pick up any points from their first three league matches, despite performing fairly well.

Wolves’ West Midlands neighbours Walsall also had an enjoyable weekend as they defeated out-of-form Mansfield Town 3-1 at the Banks’s Stadium. Striker George Miller scored a brace for the Saddlers on his home debut after recently arriving on loan from Barnsley.

We also discussed fast starters Stoke City and Coventry City, who both sit inside the Championship top six after producing some impressive results at their respective home stadiums.

Also included this week:

  • Leicester prepare to face Napoli
  • A potential points deduction looms over Derby
  • Birmingham-born Troy Deeney makes Blues debut

Brought to you by Prost International each week, The Midlands Football Show will cover every Premier League and EFL club in the Midlands region.
